IISPB Public Interest Investment Visa Guide

The Public Interest Investment Visa is a program that allows you to deposit money into a public interest fund guaranteed by the Korean government and immediately receive an F2 resident visa, and after five years, you can apply for an F5 Korean permanent resident visa.

1. deposit an investment of KRW 1.5 billion

– F2 resident visa issuance
– Apply for F5 permanent residency if you maintain your investment for 5 years
– Recoup your investment after your green card is issued
– Spouse, minor children, and unmarried adult children receive the same F2 visa
– You can get your money back, but your visa will be canceled.

2. deposit an investment of KRW 3 billion

– F5 Immediate Green Card
– Payback after 5 years of investment
– Spouse, minor children, and unmarried adult children will receive the same F5 green card
– You can get your money back, but your green card will be canceled.

Utility investment fund type (selectable)

1. interest-free with guaranteed principal

Deposits are made to a fund managed by the Korea Development Bank, entrusted by the Ministry of Justice, and only the principal is repaid after five years. The deposited amount is loaned to SMEs at low interest rates.

2. profit and loss

Investment in development projects promoted by the Ministry of Justice in consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in underserved areas. The investment results in a loss or gain

When applying for a public interest investment visa, investors must enter Korea at least once for pre-screening.

Once you complete the pre-screening, you can depart with a notarized power of attorney for the rest of the process, or you can stay for 10 days to complete your visa approval and depart.

IISPB Public Interest Investment Visa Benefits (F2 / F5 visa)

No documentation is required regarding income, Korean language proficiency, education, or work experience.
You are free to do business, work, study, buy and sell real estate in Korea.
You get the same government benefits as a resident visa holder and permanent resident.
You can enroll in Korean National Health Insurance after 6 months of stay.

Notes on applying for IISPB

F2 visa holders must have a record of entering South Korea at least once per year.
F5 visa holders must have a record of entering South Korea once every two years.
You can send money in the name of yourself, your spouse, or your unmarried children.
If you invest as an incorporated company, you can also use your company name
Submissions from abroad must be notarized by an apostille or consulate.
You must submit a foreign criminal background check.
If they are not biological children, they will need to be verified separately.
Funds must be sent within 6 months of pre-screening. Funds sent after 6 months will require re-screening.
You can’t carry your investments with you.
