D7비자

The D7 visa is applied when a foreign company dispatches executives, employees, etc. to a branch or liaison office established in Korea, or when a Korean company dispatches employees of its overseas subsidiaries to its headquarters in Korea.

When we receive inquiries from foreign companies, many people don’t know the types of companies that can be incorporated in Korea, so we’ve summarized them as follows.

  1. Apply for a D7 visa if you are listed as a branch office (sales office) in the register and have a “Certificate of Domestic Branch of Foreign Companies”
  2. Apply for a D8 visa if the company is registered as a joint stock company and has a “Foreign Investment Company Registration Certificate”
  3. If you are a Korean branch of a multinational company, but have no connection to the company in terms of establishment or ownership structure, you can hire on an E7 visa.

Prerequisites

Those who have workedat the headquarters, branches, or other business offices of a foreign public institution, organization, or company for at least one year andintend to work as an essential professional (executive, senior manager, expert) at an affiliate, subsidiary, branch, or office in Korea.

* Waiver or relaxation of the one-year headquarters requirement
  1. Engaged in national critical industries or national projects (power plants, trains, subways, etc.)
  2. Work experience credit if you’ve worked in the same or similar industry at another company
  3. Demonstrated track record of bringing in $500,000 or more in working capital

Prerequisites

Those who have worked for a local corporation or overseas branch established by a listed corporation or public institution for more than one year and are dispatched to the headquarters or main office in Korea to provide or transfer specialized knowledge, skills, or functions.

* Foreign subsidiaries and foreign branches must have an investment of $500,000 or more in the headquarters. (No investment amount requirement if headquartered in a public entity)
